We are fortunate to have many talented dining team members who come to work each day eager to provide a memorable dining experience for our guests. In honor of Pride in Foodservice Week, we would like to celebrate some of our team members and share why they are proud to work in the food service industry.
Meet Jenny, Director of Dining Services at Williams Baptist University. Jenny enjoys working in the food service industry because of all the people she gets to meet and work with every day. “It always makes me feel like my job is accomplished when I see people leave the dining hall with a smile on their face.” Jenny is always looking for ways to give back to the community and Williams Baptist campus. She works closely with campus clubs and organizations to schedule special events and activities at the dining hall.
When asked what sets Fresh Ideas apart in the food service industry, Jenny responded, “The culture and the values this company represents. You don’t see that everywhere, and we really are like a Fresh Ideas family.”
Marisa is Director of Dining Services at Oklahoma City Community College. She enjoys working in the food service industry because of the people. “My heart is here. I love serving people and the hospitality aspect of it, and I enjoy leading my team. ” Marisa is known by her peers as someone who is always cheering people on and encouraging her team to do their best.
When asked what sets Fresh Ideas apart in the food service industry, Marisa responded, “The level of service we provide. I’m proud of my company and what we do. I also know that someone is always there to support me whenever I need something.”
Finally, we would like to celebrate Travis, Director of Dining Services at William Woods University. Travis enjoys working in the food service industry because of the community. “It’s all about the students and the clients. You build relationships with the people that walk through the door. You get to support the sports teams and the clubs. It’s more than just serving food.”
When asked what sets Fresh Ideas apart in the food service industry, Travis responded, “To me, it’s the culture and family atmosphere. Everyone is just so supportive of one another.”
Chef Fred has been with Fresh Ideas for several years, helping out a few different dining locations. Currrently, he is the Campus Chef at Midland University. Fred enjoys working as a campus chef because it allows him to showcase his creativity in the kitchen and make a positive impact on the campus. “When I went to school, dining halls looked a lot different. I like creating new and exciting dishes for students to try.”
When asked what sets Fresh Ideas apart in the food service industry, Fred responded, “The family aspect of the company. Many companies may say they are like family, but with Fresh Ideas, we truly are.”
